  • Module 1 – Introduction to FIDIC and the Red and Yellow books. This short module contains background to the FIDIC form, the general provisions of the contract, and the roles of Engineer and Employer.

  • Module 2 – The Contractor – looking in detail at the obligations of the contractor, their role and duties under the contract. Understand in detail clause four of the FIDIC form.

  • Module 3 – Subcontractors, Design, Resources and Materials – understand what the FIDIC says about all these areas and how they affect the project. Ensure you obtain and remove resources on projects in a way that does not contravene the contract, and understand your obligations in relation to quality and defects.

  • Module 4 – Timing, Testing and Handover – Learn all about time in this module, including commencement delays and suspension, tests on completion and Employer’s taking over.

  • Module 5 – Defects liability, measurement and testing – get the full detail of what’s required and how the outcome of tests ‘after completion’ can be challenged or managed. How can you ensure you give the right notices in the correct form at the right time?

  • Module 6 – Payment and Termination – What is needed to obtain payment? How are applications to be made, and how can the contract be terminated correctly by the Employer? Ensure you understand the risks and opportunities afforded by the contract in these two challenging areas.

  • Module 7 – Suspension / Termination, Risk, Insurance and Claims – What are the risks for the Contractor in suspension or termination of the contract? What happens if things go wrong and how should claims be handled and resolved?

Refund Policy

Claims Class does not offer refunds for this course but we will let you transfer the fees to another course if you wish. Where there is a difference in fees, we will either refund the surplus to you or ask for the balance.
