FIDIC 2017 vs. 1999: What’s Changed?

Introduction and course materials

Welcome to Claims Class!

Hello, and welcome to Claims Class. We are thrilled to have you here, and look forward to helping you develop your knowledge and understanding of the 2017 suite of FIDIC contracts.

This is your student area, your central hub for finding the course content.

Important things to know and how it works

You’ll see the list of modules that the course covers on the previous course homepage – please refer to this as your ‘bible’ throughout the course. By clicking into any of the modules, you will gain access to:

  • details of the module and what we cover
  • the webinar recording (to be added within 24-hours of each live session)

If you start the course late or indeed fall behind at any point throughout the 6-weeks, we advise that you still follow the modules in order and catch up as quickly as possible. If you’re unsure on the best way to approach this, reach out and we will help you make a plan.

While we strongly suggest you keep up with your weekly learning to avoid things piling up, as you can see the course is highly flexible. So long as you keep an eye on the modules and watch the associated webinar, you’ll be fine.

Module webinars

Each module will be delivered via live webinar each week. This course has proved to be extremely popular and students have signed up from just about all corners of the globe. We have looked at the time zones where the attendees are located and tried to make the timing the most convenient to the greatest number of students.

The webinars will therefore take place at 14:00 United Arab Emirates time (GMT +4) on the dates you see listed in each Module box on the course homepage. If you would like to convert this time to your own time zone, please use this time zone converter.

You’ll find the join link for the webinars under Course Resources on the right hand side of this page. This link will stay the same for all webinars. We’ll also send a reminder email with the link the day before each webinar.

The webinars are typically 60-90 minutes long, but we ask that you set aside two hours to attend. This allows time for questions and technical issues that may arise.

Watching the webinar on replay

All live webinars are recorded. The recording is made available within 24-hours for you to catch up if you missed it/would like to revisit. Again, these recorded webinars will be found within the module (just click the module on the homepage to visit the module page).
