This module will teach you how to create good contract administration practices designed to prevent and effectively manage claims. Topics include contract documents, programmes and planning, project records, records for claims and how to create a claim strategy.

In this module we teach you all about the various types of claim including those for variations, extensions of time, prolongation costs, acceleration, disruption and damages. We also cover the importance of notices and claim procedures.

An extension of time claim will fail unless it demonstrates that the delay had an effect on the completion date. In this module we teach you the principles of delay analysis including concurrent delay, float and the critical path and how to link cause and effect. We will also discuss the various methods of delay analysis and give you some practical examples.

In order for a claim to succeed, it must include several essential elements. In this module we teach you exactly what should be included in a claim document and effective ways to deal with these requirements.
